Innovative Community Participation
0116 – Innovative Community Participation (Social and economic activities with support workers, including transport)
NDIS participants can receive funding for innovative community participation, which focuses on supporting individuals to engage in social, recreational, and economic activities with the assistance of support workers. This includes activities such as joining community groups, attending events, exploring hobbies, and participating in skill-building programs. Support workers provide tailored assistance, including transport, to ensure participants can access and fully engage in these opportunities. This support is designed to break down barriers and promote inclusion, helping individuals connect with their communities and pursue their interests.
The goal of innovative community participation is to enhance independence, build confidence, and improve overall well-being. By participating in these activities, individuals can develop new skills, form meaningful relationships, and contribute to their communities in ways that align with their personal goals. This support empowers participants to lead fulfilling lives while fostering a sense of belonging and purpose.
