This support helps NDIS participants find, secure, and maintain employment. It includes tailored services to develop skills, gain work experience, and transition into the workforce. Programs like School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) are designed for early school leavers, while others assist those already in supported employment who are seeking a change.

Participants can access individualized supports such as resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and workplace skill development. Providers like Rose Aged Care Service Pty Ltd also offer work experience opportunities and guidance on employment pathways to help participants achieve their career goals.

These services aim to empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workplace, ensuring long-term employment success.

How to Recieve Assistance with Employment

1. Determine Eligibility

To access the NDIS, you must meet specific criteria:

  1. Age Requirements: You must be aged between 9 and 65.
  2. Residency Requirements: You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
  3. Disability Requirements: You must have a permanent impairment that significantly affects your ability to perform everyday activities. This includes intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, physical, or psychosocial impairments.
  4. Early Intervention Requirements: If you're under 9 years old, you may be eligible if you need early intervention supports to reduce the impact of your disability.
    If you meet these criteria, you can proceed to apply for the NDIS

Collaborate with an NDIS planner or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to create a personalized plan that outlines your goals and the supports required to achieve them.

 During the planning process, discuss the specific employment-related supports you need, such as assistance with job searching, resume writing, interview preparation, or on-the-job support, and ensure they are incorporated into your plan.
